DBA stands for 'Doing Business As'.
In Oregon these are called Assumed Business Names. This type of filing is used by individuals (or other entities) to conduct business under a name other than their legal "real and true" name.
If you wish to file a Corporation, a Limited Liability Company or some other type of entity, it is not necessary to also file an Assumed Business Name.
